Oakland resident Evie McKnight, 50, said she was arrested in New Jersey in 2006 for having a medical marijuana farm at her home. On California’s voting day – November 2, 2010 – McKnight said she did not support Proposition 19 because of the tax provision that was on the measure. “You don’t get taxed for growing bamboo,” she said. “No tax.
